Gazifère energy efficiency programs – Commercial & institutional programs
Targeting energy efficiency means putting financial priorities front and centre. Gazifère’s energy efficiency programs for commercial and institutional customers are designed to meet your energy efficiency requirements, whether in the renovation or construction of a building, or in the acquisition of new equipment.
Gazifère’s energy efficiency programs are available from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. Be sure to send us the documents we need to issue your financial assistance during that period.
For the implementation of energy-saving measures, Gazifère offers its commercial and institutional customers financial support of 25¢ per cubic metre of natural gas saved, to a maximum of 70% of the cost of energy-saving measures, or *$10,000 whether for an existing building or the construction of a new one.
The program provides an opportunity to introduce energy efficiency measures as varied as they are effective, including the modernization and centralization of control systems, a heat recovery ventilation system, insulation of the building envelope and window reconditioning.
Eligibility criteria
1. The energy-saving measures must be designed to reduce the consumption of natural gas.
Any initiative involving the use of proven technology to generate natural gas savings is eligible for the program, except:
- Measures that relate directly to operations or to consumption habits, and require no capital outlay;
- Measures for which Gazifère has already granted financial assistance under an equipment program; and
- Heat-reflector panels.
2. The measures taken must have been recommended following a feasibility study by an engineer who is a member of a professional association. In the case of a new building, its energy performance must be validated by Natural Resources Canada.
3. The projected energy savings must be supported by detailed calculations.
4. Measures targeting the replacement of equipment must be separate from other energy-saving measures.
Other Eligibility criteria – New buildings
To qualify for financial assistance related to the building envelope, the construction must be at least 25% more energy-efficient than the standards of the Model National Energy Code for Buildings.
