Your house is equipped with an oil-fired furnace, and you want to convert to an energy source that performs better and is more environmentally friendly? These are some good reasons for deciding to heat your home with natural gas.
A natural gas furnace will quickly fill your home with cosy warmth. With an electronic programmable thermostat, you can regulate the temperature accurately and get the level of comfort you want at any time of the night or day.
Natural gas furnaces use pulse combustion technology, are quiet in operation and produce very little dust. In addition, it is inexpensive and very easy to add central air conditioning and a humidifier to your natural gas furnace.
Substantial savings
High-performance natural gas apopliances could save you as much as 54% on your home heating bills.
(Savings based on consumption of 2,000 litres of oil at $0.959 a litre, with an oil-fired furnace rated at 70% energy efficiency, compared with a 95%-efficient naural gas furnace, at rates effective on January 1, 2010.)

Connection
Begin by contacting the Sales Department to check whether your home is located near the Gazifère system. If your home fronts on a street served by our system, Gazifère will absorb the cost of connection. (Some conditions apply.)
Let Gazifère know at least five weeks before your renovation project begins. To request connection to the Gazifère system, call the Sales Department at 819 771 8321, and press 6.
We suggest that at the same time, you hire a contractor who is a natural gas specialist to install the piping in your home and connect your new natural gas appliances. Be sure to ask questions: your accredited contractor can advise you on new appliances that will meet your requirements.

For every natural gas appliance installed in your home, a Gazifère technician has to check that the installation has been done correctly. It is your contractor’s responsibility to let us know when his work is done. If necessary, we can contact you to make an appointment for the inspection visit.
