Control the temperature in your home with a programmable thermostat.
For cosy comfort and maximum energy savings, program your thermostat to maintain 17°C when you're not at home, and 20°C when you are. To find out about Gazifère’s offer to install a programmable thermostat for $40, go to the Energy Efficiency Programs section of our Web site.

Fireplace

Close the doors and vents of your fireplace when you're not using it, to prevent air leaks.

Hot water

Maximize your savings by reducing the temperature in your water heater from 60° to 55°C (140 to 130°F).
Be sure to set the temperature at minimum when you are away for more than seven consecutive days.

Install energy-saving products.
Gazifère offers a free kit, which includes up to two reduced-flow showerheads, an aerator for your kitchen faucet and one for your bathroom, and 3 m of insulation for the outlet pipe of your water heater. To get your kit, come to the Gazifère customer service counter.

Drain your hot-water tank once a year.
In addition to saving you money, this will remove the sediment that accumulates at the bottom of the tank. Check the manufacturer's manual for more details.

Fix any leaking faucets.
