NEW APPLICATION PROCESS

The Support for Initiatives program is divided into two components to provide the opportunity to apply a wide range of energy-saving measures.

The Energy Optimization component supports measures involving the building envelope and mechanical systems (heating, air conditioning and ventilation). Under this component, Gazifère provides $0.25 in financial assistance per cubic metre of natural gas saved up to 40% of the cost of the measure or $20,000*.

The Implementation Assistance component supports the application of measures involving the use of natural gas in production processes and high-efficiency equipment not covered by existing programs. Under this component, Gazifère provides $0.25 in financial assistance per cubic metre of natural gas saved up to 40% of the cost of the measure or $10,000*.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?

STEP 1: ARRANGE TO GET A FEASIBILITY STUDY OR AN ENERGY SIMULATION REPORT

In the case of an existing building, the measures implemented must be recommended in connection with a feasibility study conducted by an engineer who is a member of a professional association. In the case of a new building, the measures must be recommended in connection with an energy simulation.

STEP 2: CONSULT THE PARTICIPANT’S GUIDE

In order to receive the financial assistance offered by Gazifère, you will have to meet a number of eligibility criteria. Find out more about them, as well as with the specifications

STEP 3: SEND IN YOUR PRE-ADMISSION

In order to qualify for financial assistance from Gazifère, you must obtain approval of your pre-admission prior to implementing the energy efficiency measures in question.

STEP 4: OBTAIN GAZIFÈRE’S APPROVAL

Gazifère will confirm receipt of the pre-admission form within 10 working days. Gazifère processes pre-admissions on a first come, first served basis, and depending on the availability of funds.

STEP 5: ARRANGE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY MEASURES

STEP 6: SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

You must include the following three documents:

  • The copy of the feasibility study or simulation report

The simulation report must be submitted on a CD.

  • A summary of the implemented measures
  • The invoice for any newly acquired appliances

The invoice must be dated in the current year. The model number of the installed appliance and the date of installation must be indicated. The date of installation must be later than your pre-admission.

STEP 5: OBTAIN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Gazifère will have the application for assistance reviewed by an external consultant. The cost of that review will be covered by Gazifère, and a copy of the report will be provided to the client. If there is any missing or unsatisfactory information, we will contact the company in charge of the file for clarifications.

If approved, the amount will be indicated, and a cheque will be mailed to the address provided on the pre-admission form.
